Champions are built in the gym! Not online.

In the gym

in the gym championsLet’s be clear the Internet is a great resource. I am attached to it as much as many. I have a BLOG after all. BUT, we have to get in the gym to learn how to move. Too many are “learning” without ever LEARNING.

I know some “fitness professionals” who read everything they can to gain new insight on physical matters. One has given himself the nickname “professor”. He reads a lot (good). He gathers information like it is going out of style. However, he does nothing with his body. He cannot see what good information is and what a load is. He is small (that’s ok). He is weak (not ok). He actually tried the sport of weightlifting in youth. After he moved into the profession he actually damaged his back lifting a weight wrong. He decided, weak ego, that the movement was bad not his poor execution. Since then he has determined that the weightlifting foundation of physical fitness is wrong (terrible)! He is a business person teaching business people how to perform better at the desk. Get out of my field weakling!
My stance is this: if one has less than five years of lifting experience do not read too much Internet information. Hire a coach. Practice, practice, practice! We must gain physical knowledge before the cognitive process can possibly serve us in the physical aspects of life. Move it or lose it.

If one is taking in all the information, impossible by the way, on the Internet without any physical foundation one has no basis of understanding. One cannot sift through vast amounts of B……T and determine what sound advice is and what is BS.
in the gymGet off the Internet and go squat, deadlift, bench press, push-press, clean, jerk, and snatch. Once you have these basics in place the information online will make healthier sense.

If one has more than five years with the bar the lessons learned under the bar will have given knowledge. Look knowledge up in a thesaurus. It is synonymous with experience.
Get stronger!                                                                                                      docsgym@live.com
