Do-it-correctly-or-Get-out-of-the-way
CrossNot
We can call this accident from
last year a “freak accident” or we can call it exactly what it is,
carelessness. If one does not even understand the repetition one should not
train alone. Weightlifting is a very technical activity. Lifters are in the
beginner stage for more than seven years. This is not like bodybuilding where
we can classify ourselves as advanced after one year. We must learn the
nuances.
CrossFitters want so badly to be
a part of some hard-core community that they bypass a lot of necessary stages.
These stages are part of the reason weightlifting is one of the safest sports,
look at the statistics. CrossFit is not weightlifting. CrossFit is not
powerlifting. For someone to be part of a “hard-core” community someone from
that community needs to invite/accept the other into the group. CrossFitters
will never be accepted because they do not lift heavy, correctly, safely,
intelligently, or properly in any category. The best CrossFit “lifter” cannot
even qualify for a nationals in powerlifting or weightlifting. Wake up fitness
community. Stop accepting new things as valid simply because they challenge the
standards which are impossible for you to meet in the next six weeks. This is
unrealistic.
If one thinks CrossFit is worth
the risks involved injury is a certainty. We can no longer accept the all too
common thinking that working hard causes injury. True hard work involves
learning to avoid injury so as to allow more training. Skip the injuries. Train
more frequently.
Get stronger!
