Old school
revisited
Ok, I see things very differently from the current training
community. I will speak my mind until I find enough people who actually want to
train and become better physically, mentally, and emotionally. Training
requires us to do things we may not want to do. Training is joining forces with
another who has done things the old fashioned way and gathered the information
we need to advance; like other professionals. It is not easy. It is not fun. It
is difficult and the results give us joy.
Political correctness is a relatively new thing. The idea is
sound as long as everything from the past that is good remains. This sounds
like CrossFit to me. Manners are a good thing. With manners we do not need
political correctness. Strength training is a good thing. With strength
training, with a strength athlete/coach, we do not need CrossFit. Strength
serves everyone. Train like you want to become a powerlifter/weightlifter and
other sport performances are improved. This assumes practice for the other
sport.
Make certain that your trainer has trained for something. Even better than that make certain your
trainer has trained others en route for their wants and needs. Real trainers
help us understand why we are doing the things we must to become better.
