A-lifting-day-is-better-than-any-other-day

A lifting day

be who you areWatching a movie about surfing one of the surfers says something to the effect of “any day with a go out is better than another day”. I agree with this statement about one’s pursuit of happiness. Any lifting day is better than another day. It provides every emotion. It is living. Life is part of weightlifting just pull the word apart.

We must actively participate in every moment of every day. Just be what you are doing. I am listening. I am lifting. I am coaching. I am walking. I am learning. I am observing. If I ignore any experience I am not living. Living is taking part. Living is a verb. Living is taking everything we can from every experience. I take what life gives me and learn. Joy and pain create a system which is balanced.

There is no joy without sadness. There is no good without evil. There is no strength without weakness. Life is
strength training
taking inventory in the moment. Life balances out. If you find yourself muddling around in sadness too recurrently make certain to notice the happiness in your life. It exists if you see it. Do not avoid any feelings. This is dangerous. If I am unhappy I know it. If I am happy I also know. Experience is knowledge. Associated knowledge is intelligence.

Practice makes perfect if the practice is perfect. In training, I want to practice so much that my body executes for me, automatically. We must use the physical to attain the spiritual. If these two are addressed the cognitive falls in line as long as one knows they are just present. I do not want to control life. I want to live in each moment.

Does one need to stretch to be physically fit? Of course. If we develop superior tension (strength) we must develop superior reduction. Seek balance in life.

get strongerDoes one need to possess cardiovascular endurance? Yes! If we believe this is the end of fitness our structures will fail sooner than later. Endurance is relative. We must keep balance in mind to avoid conflict. Fracturing the tibia makes running eighteen miles counterproductive. Strength makes body weight less distressing during endurance work.

I could go on and relate strength to every component of physical fitness. If I have not addressed any component you see as important contact me. Comment on this post, or email me, and I can show you the importance of strength as a foundation of physical fitness. Balance is the key pragmatically. In physical
matters, we do not need to train static and dynamic balance as frequently as many believe. I am speaking of balance in life.

Strength feeds every component of physical fitness more than any other component will. This is why strength and conditioning starts with the word strength.
