Health-is-strength

Health

Health is strength. Health is ability. Health requires work. Health is actually a career. We all want to be healthy. Health requires sacrifices be made. One cannot eat whatever they want if health is central to their philosophy. Everything must be factored in to meet health needs. Being in the moment is what health is. If we are not healthy now, we must change every habit. Strength and health are one in the same. If measurable strength is not improving adjustments must be made.

strength training for those with diabetes

strength training for those with diabetesStrength is a matter of evolution. We apply measurable stress to achieve a particular end. Innovation is rational. This is the artistic side of the equation. The science is explicit. Logic is very, very, important. Define strength and make certain your designation is real. Exteriors will always depart. Measurement is part of the process. Photography can be altered. Appearances are weak goals use them as secondary goals if you must address appearances. Strength is measurable.

Goals service progress. Short term goals service long term goals. Set a goal which is demanding yet achievable. Write them down. Look at them frequently. Imagination is making the science fit individual needs. Break goals down into sub-goals or short term goals. When a short term goal is not achieved adjust and keep moving forward. This does not mean ignoring the failure; needs. Driven imagination is when dreams are realized. The sub-conscious is a useful tool. Rehearse, or train, your sub-conscious each night before you sleep. Ask how will I fix my problem? Allow the sub-conscious to work on your dreams while you sleep. This is difficult for those trying to keep up with the Joneses. How will you know what the Joneses are doing? Your goals must be yours. Compete with yourself only. This is how champions train. It must be a part of every cell in your body, mind, and soul. Competing with another is hollow. You will lose your substance training to compete with others. Train and be the best you can be. Training is measurable.

balance
Yin and Yang are complete. They balance one another. Be like water. Strong and adjustable. Be in the moment aware and not reactive unless the circumstances require action. Lose the training done in childhood which do not serve your current goals. I cringe when I hear adults telling children not to pick something up because it is too heavy. “You will hurt yourself.” Being conservative creates mediocrity. Teach children how to pick things up properly. If it is actually too heavy instruct them to get help. Do not teach them to be weak. Teach children to be strong. Sometimes strength needs help. Stubbornness is never asking for help or admitting weakness. We must admit weakness to improve strength. Strength is comprehensive. Most things are.

Let us create an argument now. Imagine high blood pressure is a current problem. No cardiovascular work has been practiced. Ignoring the problem makes it chronic. A solution to this problem is a systematic application of cardiovascular and strength work. Exhaling during the concentric phase of a lift is born of blood pressure regulation. Blood pressure elevates to push blood through a pressurized system. Muscles are tight during work and require more pressure to transport nourishment across capillary beds. Cardiovascular work lowers blood pressure as a matter of duration. It is not efficient to pressurize the systems for long

duration low intensity work. Yin and Yang again. Balanced work is vital. Training is part of the solution to high blood pressure. Some may require medication. The medical community is the avenue for this group. My blood pressure remains elevated for several hours after a heavy strength session. This is why I train cardiovascular work and teach the systems to down-regulate tension characteristic of strength work. Making my heart stronger is beneficial as well. Train to be healthier and you will get stronger. If you are not improving strength you are not healthy and adjustments must be made.

Another example is imbalanced development at any joint. Say the elbows are too biceps oriented. All development ceases at joints when ratios of strength are unbalanced. The biceps do not need to be as strong as the triceps but they must be within a scope. Ignoring the disproportion will cause problems assuming high performance is our goal. Do a little triceps work and make the system efficient again.

strength training is not a fadCorrective exercises have been hyped as recent discoveries. Physical therapy and balanced training have always been used by elite athletes in sport. Corrective exercises should occupy no more than 10% of training. Do not have confidence in the apprentice yet. Trainers are beginners for the first ten years of a career. Training is not based on fads. “There is nothing as disgusting as fashion. It is so disgusting we need to change it every year.”

Training is health-care. We can train for endurance. We can train for strength. It is a systematic application of stress which allows an organism to adjust in a meticulous manner. I was diagnosed as diabetic over forty-five years ago. My doctor told my parents to make me an active kid or a diabetic. They chose the former and I am forever grateful. My muscular insulin receptors are trained and pick up glucose from the bloodstream. I do not have problems with diabetes. Nutrition is a training tool as well. I train and manage diabetes. Training sanctions management of most things physical. If I could train the pancreas and make it produce insulin again I would. I have type 1 diabetes. This is an avenue available for some type 2 diabetics. I train and am healthier as a result.
